Years ago I was asked to do training on Assistive Technology with new teachers. Each month when the new teachers got together for PD they wanted me to have a technology time with them to share about our district resources. I wanted a catchy name and at the time and using a hashtag was the thing. Wishing my name started with a T so I could have the title “tech time with Trixie”, I instead stared brainstorming words that rhymed with Paige. Thus #EngageWithPaige was born.
When I started working on the website for BEST my daughter asked me if it was called Engage With Paige. I told her it was not, but then though it would be a good title for the blog portion. On this blog you will find my thoughts and experiences related to Assistive Technology, AAC devices, Executive Function Skills, and a variety of other topics related to education and working to support students with more unique needs.
I don’t call myself an expert on any of these topics. Someone once said (I really can’t remember where I heard this to give them credit) that X is the unknown factor and “spurt” is what happens when something is put under undo pressure. So given enough pressure we can all become XSpurts at just about anything. I have had vast experiences with these topics and that is what I bring to this blog: thoughts, ideas, and anecdotes to share. Welcome to #EngageWithPaige
